Asia's largest Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power plant :-


Reva solar plant :-

The project was launched by Narendra modi on 10 july 2020. This is a mega solar plant located in Gurh tehsil of Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh. It is a single site solar plant in india. The project is the largest solar plant in Asia. Energy is generated from the sun's ray in this solar plant and it is renewable energy. The first solar project to break the grid parity barrier in the country. It is a ground mounted, grid connected solar park.

Area And Generating Unit Of This Solar Plant :-
This solar plant is spread over 1590 acres and out of the total 750 MW units, three units 250 MW each have been installed in 500 acres.

 Development of solar plant:-
The solar plant was built by Reva Ultra Mega Solar Limited(RUMSL), a joint venture between Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Central PSU Solar Energy Corporation of India and Both Central and State have a 50% stake in this solar project

Construction cost of solar project: -
Solar plant construction cost is around 4500 Crore.
This is the first project in our country to be funded by the World Bank and clean technology fund in india.  World bank has provided Approx $440 million And 
Central Finance Assistance has paid Rs 138 crore to Rumsl for development of the park. 

When was the solar project completed and how much production per day goes out in the unit:-
The solar project was completed on January 3, 2020 and some of the units in the solar power project were commissioned in 2018.
The solar plant produces 37,000 units per day. 

Solar plant Grid parity barrier :-
The solar project tariffs of approximately Rs. 4.50 per unit in early 2017 but Rewa project achieved the first tariff Rs. 2.97 per unit with a traiff escaltion of Rs 0.05per unit over 15 years.

Solar plant power buyers: -
The first energy project supply energy to the institutional customers outside of the state.The main two solar plants are power buyers. 24% electricity will go to Delhi Metro and the remaining 76% will be given to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited.

Advantages of Reva Solar Power Plant :-
1) 15.7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year can be prevented, which is equivalent to planting 26 million trees.
2) It can avoid 1 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year
3)Electricity will be provided to workers, farmers and small scale industries in Madhya Pradesh and employment will be available to the people there.

Achievement of Reva Solar Plant:-
The Rewa Solar Power Project has received an award from the President of the World Bank Group for Innovation and Excellence.
The Rewa solar project  was also included in the pm's "a book of innovation : new beginning "
  
" The Rewa project has been able to generate renewable energy, reduce pollution and become the largest solar project in Asia."
